My Approach
A Structured Approach to Performance
I coach trail and ultra runners who want to develop performance over the long term.
My work is based on a simple observation: most athletes plateau not because they lack effort, but because their training lacks structure, patience, and progression across seasons.
Performance in trail and ultra running is not built by intensity alone. It is built by durability, aerobic depth, terrain-specific preparation, and intelligent decision-making under fatigue.
This is the foundation of my coaching.
Why I Coach This Way ?
My interest in endurance goes beyond sessions and race results. What drives my work is understanding how athletes adapt over time — how the body responds to load, how fatigue accumulates, how consistency shapes capacity.
I believe in:
-
Developing structural resilience before increasing intensity
-
Building aerobic efficiency before chasing speed
-
Respecting recovery as much as training
-
Preparing for the demands of terrain, not just distance
-
Structuring development across years, not weeks
Short-term peaks are easy to create.
Sustainable progression is not.
Coaching Philosophy
I approach coaching as a long-term collaboration.
Training must fit the athlete’s life, not compete with it. Work, family, stress, and terrain all influence adaptation. Ignoring these realities leads to inconsistency and injury.
Clarity and discipline replace guesswork.
Structure replaces improvisation.
Patience replaces urgency.
This is not reactive coaching.
It is a guided process built on trust and accountability.
Selective by Design
Athlete intake is intentionally limited.
Coaching works best when alignment exists between athlete and method. Not every runner will feel comfortable slowing down to progress properly. Not everyone wants to think in seasons and years.
That is by design.
I work with athletes who are willing to commit to structured development and honest communication about fatigue, recovery, and execution.
THE COACH

vincent lebois
Ultrarunning Coach
I’m Vincent Lebois, a trail and ultra runner and coach with a deep respect for endurance and what it teaches over time.
My own experience as an athlete has shaped how I coach today: with patience, structure, and a focus on building durable performance rather than chasing short-term gains.
Coaching, for me, is a continuation of that same commitment to the process.
